Which product should I buy?

Mira is our software that creates actions in all your applications.
Manta Mini is our USB IR receiver & allows Mira to see signals from a remote.

You'll need your own Apple remote or compatible to use Mira/Manta with your Mac.

New Customer with a newer Mac (without IR):

Manta Mini Bundle for Mac is the product for you. It includes both Mira and Manta Mini.

Existing Mira Customer with a newer Mac (without IR):

Manta Mini (Recvr Only) is the product for you. Use Manta Mini with your existing Mira license.

Remote Buddy Customer with a newer Mac (without IR):

Manta Mini (Recvr Only) is the product for you. Use Manta Mini with your existing RB license.

New Customer with older Mac (with built-in IR):

Mira is the product for you. Use Mira software with the IR Receiver built into your Mac.

Boxee Box, Linux or Windows Customer:

Manta Mini for HTPC is the product for you.

Do you ship to my country?

Yes. We ship world-wide at very reasonable rates. Our shopping cart currently supports 190 countries and if yours is not included, just contact us and we can make other arrangements.

You will see the shipping charge shown at the bottom of the itemized cart immeditely after selecting the destination country.

Do you ship to APO, FPO, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and...?

Yes. We ship to all United States addresses, including overseas armed forces bases and possessions such as the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Palau.

Please select "United States" as your country and then select the appropriate designation from the "State" menu for your location.

How long does it take for my order to reach me?

Deliveries to most destinations take between 4 and 10 business days ("business days" are Monday to Friday). NOTE that some destinations will take longer, usually due to customs standards in a specific country - orders to Brazil may take 4 to 6 weeks for example.

An order will typically ship out within 3 days of being placed, depending on what day/time it was entered and our shipping schedule for that week. You will receive an automated shipping confirmation once your order has been shipped.

If you have not received your order within 10 business days of the shipping confirmation, please contact us to let us know. Please note that holiday schedules and other events around the world can impact delivery times.

What shipping methods are available?

Orders are shipped via either USPS, Canada Post or special UK/Belgium postal service for some European destinations. All orders will be delivered by your local postal service.

You will see the shipping charge shown at the bottom of the itemized cart immeditely after selecting the destination country.

Volume shipments or special arrangements can be made with alternate services such as FedEx, UPS, etc.

I want to pay by Credit Card, but I get taken to a PayPal page, is your online store PayPal only?

You do not require a PayPal account to purchase our products. Anyone can pay using only a major credit card* or contact us to arrange alternative payment (check, money order, etc.)

At the time of writing, PayPal Web Payments is the payment processor for Twisted Melon, and through them we accept standard credit card payments (all major cards), bank payments as well as PayPal-sourced funds for those with an account.

To pay by credit card:

On check-out you should see the following form if you have not previously used PayPal for a transaction:

If you do not see that form, you will simply need to press the "Continue" link to show it:

This will allow you to pay using your credit card without creating or using a PayPal account.

* For some countries PayPal may require that you first register an account as a form of added security. You are still free to pay directy from your credit card however.

Is my financial data protected?

Yes, absolutely!

Twisted Melon does not store your financial details (such as credit card numbers). Billing is handled by our payment processor (PayPal Web Payments at the time of writing) and all transactions use the strongest online encryption possible. Financial details are input directly by you onto the processor's secure web form at the time of order completion.

Further, your registration information, including your name and email address, are kept in a secure database and moved offline on a regular interval.

Can I pay in currencies other than US Dollars (USD)?

Yes, our payment processor will allow you to charge your purchases in additional currencies for an amount equivalent to the USD total. The payment processor handles all foreign exchange rates and billing. Twisted Melon will be paid in our listed currency and you will see a charge to your credit card in your selected/local currency.

Can I order products by phone or mail (or any other offline way)?

Yes. You can place your initial order with us through email and send a Money Order through standard letter mail as payment. Corporate and educational purchasers may also forward a Purchase Order and pay by corporate check/cheque or wire transfer if desired. For convenience, security, ease of use and speed, online transactions are automated and preferred when possible.

When will I receive my license/registration?

After submitting payment you will first receive a payment confirmation. Usually within five minutes you will also receive an additional email containing the product license file.

Please make sure the messages are not being blocked by any of your email filters (all order emails come from orders@twistedmelon.com).

* Special notice to people with an Excite email address.

I haven't received my license file, what do I do?

Don't panic. While the license email is usually received within a few minutes, net congestion, heavy server load or other factors may cause delays.*

While waiting for your registration, please confirm that email from orders@twistedmelon.com is not blocked by SPAM or other filters— add it to your white/trusted/accepted/friends list if necessary.

If you have still not received your license file within 24 hours, please contact our customer support address.

What do I do after I receive my license file?

If Mira has not yet been installed, install it now before continuing.

Using most email programs, such as Apple Mail, you should be able to double-click on the .miralicense file attached to your registration email to open/launch it, otherwise you may save it to your desktop and double-click it from there. When you do this Mira will receive the information it needs to complete your registration and pop up a small confirmation window.

Why am I not receiving email from Twisted Melon?

Is your email address @excite.com ?

Excite subscribes to one or more email blackhole services which are giant lists of IP addresses from which to block email. The intention is that these lists would be for known SPAM domains, however many legitimate IP addresses get included in the list, such as some gmail servers and one or more servers used for mail at our hosting company. IP addresses are supposed to cycle out, but there always seems to be a problem at Excite with keeping up to date.

While our mail server's IP address exists in one of these lists, you will not be able to receive our mail because excite will block it from reaching you. Our sincere recommendation is for customers to obtain email services from a different company with more robust and feature-rich client services, such as GMail from Google.

I don't want/need Mira any longer, can I obtain a refund?

No. All software sales are final.

Mira is available for download and evaluation for up to 30 days prior to any purchase obligations. It is expected this is enough time to make a firm decision on whether or not the program is suitable or desired for a customer's purposes. When a purchase is made, a unique license is generated and delivered to the customer. This license includes your name and email address and allows full use of Mira.

What is your refund policy on hardware items?

Hardware items may be returned up to 30 days after their shipping dates for a refund of their purchase price, excluding shipping charges and a restocking fee, as long as they are in original condition and accompanied by all original accessories and documentation.

A 15% restocking fee in addition to the original shipping charges will be deducted from the refund amount for all returns of online orders. Orders paid for by check, money order or wire transfer are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee plus any additional fees incurred to receive/process the original payment(s), in addition to the original shipping charges - no exceptions.

Customers must first contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) so that we can process the return. The returned item(s) must be insured against their full value as any returns received in a damaged state will be denied.

Once the return has been received and verified in original condition, you will be issued a refund for the purchase price minus any applicable restocking charge & the original shipping amount.
